Presenters

Philippa Forrester and Jonathan Pearce were both involved in the third series along with a new presenter for series IV, Julia Reed. As ever the host is the intergalactic traveller from Liverpool, aka Red Dwarf's Craig Charles, who will be giving the robots a run for their money. He was overheard to say "Who needs Kryten when Sergeant Bash is in the house?"
Philippa Forrester
Philippa Forrester's varied career in television began in 1990 as presenter of the BBC teenage magazine programme "The Ozone", before moving into the 'broom cupboard' at Children's BBC. She has been friends with Ed the Duck ever since! Her next mission was for ITV on the hugely popular "Disney Club".
Not one for sitting still, in 1997 Philippa sampled the delights of some seriously thrilling sports for ITV's "This Morning", including drag racing, tandem skydiving and a none too popular bungee jump. However none of this compared to the utter terror of meeting Richard and Judy in person!
Recent presentations for the BBC include "The World's Strongest Man", a Christmas special of the "Antique's Roadshow" and currently "Tomorrow's World".
Philippa isn't just a well known presenting face however - during recent filming breaks she has been frantically completing field studies as well as writing a 5000 word thesis on Evolutionary Studies. This was the culmination of her four year degree course in Ecology and Environmental Science which she has just completed. Philippa is therefore the only member of the Robot Wars team with two certificates of merit (although Sergeant Bash would like his BTEC in Typing to be taken into consideration).
Philippa is also passionate about wildlife and spends much of her time at Tiggywinkles Wildlife Hospital, tending to a variety of animals - except snakes which she hates even more than Richard and Judy! Philippa is very excited about being involved in the next series of Robot Wars and admits to having a particular soft spot for Matilda!
Jonathan Pearce
Jonathan has always had a talent for journalism and broadcasting - he started out in the late seventies at the National Broadcasting School where he embarked on an intensive post-graduate journalism and broadcasting course for which he won a scholarship. Prior to this he was a keen footballer, training with Bristol City as a teenager. However he failed to make the grade.
Jonathan is the voice of Robot Wars but is probably better known as the man who puts the balls in football - he is currently a regular commentator for Channel 5 and Capital Radio. Most recently he was the commentator for Capital Radio's World Cup coverage and he can be found on television as a commentator on Granada talk TV and 'The Footballers Football Show' on Sky TV.after breaking his leg in 1974.
He has won numerous awards including the Sony Radio Awards Best Sports Programme in 1993.
Jilia Reed
Julia Reed has had an active past before appearing on Robot Wars. Amongst her experience of paragliding and mountain boarding she was also the Hampshire Under 18 fencing Champion!
In addition she also has a 1st Class degree in Psychology and used to work as a strategist for an advertising agency.
Once she moved into television she has appeared in the science/internet show Skyrocket, and host for the technology show Gear [.tv]. Only recently she was involved with live tv broadcast from the Farnborough Airshow.
Craig Charles
Craig Charles is best known as Red Dwarf's intergalactic space traveller Lister. He has appeared in all seven series of the cult BBC2 show and is currently in production of an eighth. Craig has also been seen on a whole host of programmes as diverse as 'Through the Keyhole' and 'The Bill'. And let us not forget his two guest presenting appearances on 'The Big Breakfast'. http://www.craigcharles.co.uk/
As well as being a familiar face on television, Craig is also a respected writer with a number of books to his name and a seasoned actor, comedian and poet. In the past he has been a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, has hosted his own stand-up show in London as well as performing at the Edinburgh Festival. Craig has even performed in Pantomime - Dick Whittington at the Hull Theatre in 1997.
As well as a performer, Craig is a practised interviewee - he has chatted with a number radio and television stars including 'Wogan' on BBC1 and john Peel and Janice Long for radio. He is also a regular contributor for 'Loose Ends' on Radio 4 and the Radio 4 arts programme 'Kaleidoscope'. Craig was a huge fan of the first series of Robot Wars and is thrilled to be involved in the second and third series.
